Exposed:
The intersection of fame, data, and ethics
JACMUN 2025’s Specialized Agency II will focus on the theme “Exposed: The Intersection of Fame, Data, and Ethics.” In today’s world of frequent data breaches, leaks, and the misuse of personal information, public figures are increasingly vulnerable to privacy violations. This committee will address the urgent need for stronger digital privacy protections and explore the ethical responsibilities of tech companies, social media platforms, and media outlets in handling sensitive data.
Delegates will engage in discussions around key issues such as providing support for victims of data breaches, including access to legal recourse and mental health resources, while also holding tech giants accountable for safeguarding user data. A central theme will be how to ensure companies and individuals are held responsible for privacy violations, with a focus on balancing corporate interests with the protection of personal information.
The committee will advocate for the creation of a global standard for data protection and cybersecurity, ensuring that all individuals, whether public figures or private citizens, are protected from privacy invasions. Through debates on best practices, regulations, and international cooperation, delegates will develop actionable strategies to promote ethical standards in the digital age. Join us for an engaging and impactful discussion on how we can protect privacy in an increasingly interconnected world. Together, we can help shape a safer, more ethical digital future!
